About

Prof. Dr. Altan Çakır received his M.Sc. degree in theoretical particle physics from Izmir Institute of Technology in 2006 and then went straight to graduate school at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. He got his present full professor position in 2016 at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Istanbul, Turkey. Currently, Prof. Çakır is a group leader of ITU-CMS group at CERN and leading a data analysis group at the CMS detector.

Prof. Çakır currently continues his studies at CERN with a working group of fourteen researchers graduated from different interdisciplinary departments and programs within the scope of group studies. He is a member of ECFA (European Committee for Future Accelerators) and RECFA (Restricted European Committee for Future Accelerators) on behalf of the country within the scope of Turkey CERN associate membership.

Prof. Cakir has been a board member of the ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Research and Applications Center since 2019 and he is a co-president of Turkish Artificial Intelligence Platform since the beginning of 2021. He is the founder of Parton Big Data Analytics and Consulting Inc. and Adin.Ai – Advertising Intelligence – companies. He works as a founding partner and chairman of the board of directors.
