Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev is the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States. He has held various positions during his 38-years of professional career in the Kyrgyz Republic including at the Ministry of Agriculture, JSC “Kyrgyz Agro Impex”, Foreign Economic Association, Consultative Council for Good Governance, Kyrgyz Parliamentarians against Corruption (KPAC) – the National Chapter of Global Organization of Parliamentarians against Corruption, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He began his diplomatic career in 1997 and has worked in several diplomatic missions as Consul General of Kyrgyzstan in Dubai, Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan to the USA and Canada. He served from 2015 to 2022 as Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania Türkiye and Israel and also assumed the position of Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Ambassador Omuraliev was appointed as the OTS Secretary General by the decision of the OTS Council of Heads of State taken at the 9th Summit of the Organization held on 11 November 2022 in Samarkand.
