Chong Jin Oh is Professor and chairperson in the Dept. of Turkish-Azerbaijani Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Also, he serving as the Dean of External Development at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. He is serving as a Vice-president of Fulbright Korea Scholar Association and Co-Director of Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Cultural Center Seoul office.
He has finished his Ph.D degree at Bilkent University, Ankara, Türkiye in the field of International Relations. He is Turkic expert in Korea whose research interest is at Türkiye, Turkic Central Asia and Caucasus and Middle East. He has published numerous articles and books on ethnic, economics, politics, and socio-cultural issues related with Turkic world and Korea at the leading academic journals and magazines.
He has given many courses related with Türkiye and Turkic worlds, International Relations, history, and languages. He was one of the main organizers of the First Turkey-Korea Forum which was initiated at December, 2011 by the Korean and Turkish Foreign Ministries.
He is currently general secretary of the Korean Association of the Islamic Studies (KAIS) since 2014. He has been selected as 2015 Fulbright Scholars. Thus, as a visiting professor, he taught researched at the State University of New York (SUNY), at the Dept. Political Science and History Dept.
